Hi everyone!
We are planning on holding a Training Camp in Tagaytay on October 29-30. Please consider this a survey for confirming your participation in this event. If you are going, note that we have two options for lodging, junior executive suite or dorm room facilities. You can share the suite with 1-2 other persons. The dorm facilities means you'll share with 5-11 other people. If you choose to opt for the suite, your contribution will be from P3,000 to P3,500. If you choose the dorm room, your contribution will be from P1,500 to P2,000. Also, the expenses listed are only the projected expenses, this can change. We will try not to go over the upper limit though.
Please indicate via comment if you are going, and what lodging option you'll be taking. Thanks very much!

Hi guys I got this from the various pdf files that I downloaded from the internet for my research about Kendo. I hope this will help you especially those who are new in this budo.
1. When entering and leaving the dojo make a reverend bow
2. Do not enter the dojo untidily dressed, if dressed in Japanese style a hakama should be worn
3. Maintain a respectful attitude and the most correct posture
4. Be quiet and conscientious, do not engage in noisy chatter, laughter, clapping or cheering
5. After eating allow a suitable amount of time to elapse before training.
6. If you have taken alcohol do not enter the dojo, let alone engage in training.
7. The sword is ones soul, the bougu is ones armour, handle them with respect according to the correct method.
8. The dojo interior must be cleaned morning and evening and kept tidy.
9. Do not comment on other styles of swordsmanship or in each other’s technique.
10. For those who are training in swordsmanship take caution against shortness of temper or selfishness, do not be quarrelsome but always remain serene of heart.

Hi Guys,
In the wind up for the tournament on May 7, I am inviting everyone who is competing to take advantage of the last two Monday practices before that (April 25 and May 2), and of course the last Saturday practice on April 30. Practice on April 25 will be from 7-9pm. Practice time for May 2 still has to be confirmed, but will most likely be from 8-10pm.
Hope to see you guys there.
Cheers!

Hi Guys,
First, practice for April 16 will not be in Arena Fitness, as previously announced, due to the venue not being available on that day. Instead, practice will be held in Dumlao Gym, along Shaw Blvd, in Mandaluyong City, from 5-7pm. See the map below for the location, or click on the link if the map doesn't show up on your browser.
In addition, we will try to arrange for a carpool/convoy from EDSA Central. Please comment or contact me if you want to avail of this offer. The plan current plan is to meet up at EDSA Central before 430pm and leave at that time for Dumlao.
Since our practice time is limited to two hours, we hope everyone will be there before 450pm in order to change before practice and not lose time.
After practice on the 16th, Igarashi-Sensei is inviting everyone to eat dinner at Komorosoba in MegaMall. This is the same place that will cater our lunch during the Tournament on May 7, so this is your chance to sample their cooking prior to the event. This will be KKB, just to clarify.
There will be no practice on April 23, which is Black Saturday.
Practice will resume on April 30, back in Arena Fitness. Practice on this day will be from 2-6pm, because Hera-Ken will be joining us on that day, so the extra time is for their benefit.
If you have any questions or clarification please feel free to message me.
Cheers!

Hi Guys,
It is unfortunate, but due to circumstances beyond our control the April 16 schedule of the 2nd Hera-Ken and IGA-Ken tournament will be postponed to May 7. Please adjust your plans accordingly. Venue is tentatively Arena Fitness. As soon as more details are available, I will post them.

Hello Everyone!
Just to announce that the plans for the 2nd Hera-Kendo Club and IGA-Kendo Club Tournament have been finalized. This will be held on April 16, 2011, a Saturday, and the venue will be in Arena Fitness, our regular practice venue. Time will be from 10am to 5pm, though I would encourage participating members to arrive early, say 930am, in order to help with preparations, etc.
I sent an email blast via this site and facebook in order to confirm your participation, but just in case you are a member of the club and did not get any message, please confirm if you are going by leaving a comment on this article. Note that we wil also be providing lunch, catered by Mr. Inoue from KomoroSoba. Please also indicate if you would like to be included with the head count for the food.
Hope to see you all on the 16th!
Cheers!

Hi Guys,
This month weekday practices will be on Mondays, 8-10pm. Venue will still be Arena Fitness. Please try to make the most of this schedule as there are only a few more practice sessions left before the shiai on April 16.
In addition, tomorrow's practice (March 7) will be a special one because we have a visiting sensei from Japan who will be joining us. His name is Onami-Sensei and he is a 7th-dan kyoshi. Opportunities like this are rare, so if you can please take the time to join us in practice tomorrow evening.
Cheers!
