Arena Fitness is currently repairing their floors, so until further notice there will be no practices for Arena IGA-Ken. The members of Arena IGA-Ken are being asked to practice in the Dasma Dojo during the duration of the repairs. For tomorrow, Jan. 19, 2013, practice in Dasma will be from 9am-12nn to accommodate the visiting Arena people.
Announcements will be made when practice can resume in Arena.

Hello everyone, especially those using the Guestbook to contact us.
There have been recent issues with the Guestbook, specifically I cannot use it to reply directly to your inquiries. I have resorted to sending emails to answer your inquiries, so hopefully you have received them.
I will try to resolve the Guestbook issue asap.
Thanks and Happy Holidays!

The Annual Christmas Shiai and Party of IGA-Kendo Club was a big success! The events will be covered in a longer article, but allow me this opportunity to express my gratitude to the following people:
Igarashi-Sensei and Junko-San - To the spiritual parents of IGA-Ken, without you and your dedication to Kendo and all your students, we wouldn't be having the time of our Kendo lives. We are very lucky to have met you and become your students and friends.
Matsumoto-Sensei and Nakagane-San - Thank you for all your efforts in helping us with the club. Especially with your help in organizing things and being shimpan, and generally trying to push things yesterday.
Alain, Johnny, and Marlette - For you help in organizing the event, and being a general sounding board on what to do. Let's all work to make this annual event even better next time!
To the Konishi Family - For being great hosts for the party. Thank you for allowing us to use your lovely home. Great parents, great kids, nice house and nice dog!
To all the shiai participants, including the kids, and especially Jason and Teru - Congratulations on showing us your best Kendo! May we all improve our Kendo! See you all in keiko!
To all the administration people - Thank you for all your effort! Though some of you did not do shiai, do not think that we do not appreciate what you did yesterday. Without your help, pulling off the shiai would have been that much harder.
To all those who dropped by and watched - Thank you for your interest! Hope we showed you something interesting.
And finally...Thank you to my lovely wife and sparring partner, Loida. Though we always clash on how to run events like these, it is from these "spirited" discussions that makes these events as successful as they are. Please do not get tired of our mental and verbal jigeiko whenever we do this.
Merry Christmas to Everyone!

Note that this means there will be no regular practice in Arena on that day, and the Dasma schedule will change to accommodate this event. People planning to visit, please take note.
Finally, this will be the last official practice day for the IGA-Kendo Club Family. Regular practices will resume starting January 5, 2013.
Have a Merry Christmas, and see you next year!

The 2nd Annual IGA-Kendo Club Training Camp is slated for this coming weekend, Aug 18-20, 2012 in the University of the Philippines, Los Banos Campus, Laguna. This event will include a half day Crash Course on Kendo for the benefit of interested UPLB students, the Training Camp for IGA-Ken members, and a culminating shiai/competition.
This means that regular practices in Arena Fitness on the 18th and (possibly) the 20th, will not push through. Regular practice will resume on the 25th of August.
See you in Los Banos!
